How to resize a photo or signature for a form
- Check the official upload instructions for your exam and year first. The sources below are a starting point.
- Choose your image, then select a matching form preset or enter the width, height and KB range. For a 20–50 KB requirement, enter 20 as the minimum and 50 as the maximum. If only a maximum is specified, you can set the minimum to 0.
- Choose the JPG or PNG format required by the form. Check the output for a clear face, a complete signature and readable writing.
- Download the result and check the application portal’s preview. On a shared computer, clear the current customer’s files before the next customer and delete downloaded copies from the device too.
Should I crop, add padding or stretch?
Crop keeps the centre and removes edges; check that it does not cut off required parts of the face or head. Padding keeps the whole image with white space around it, which can help with signatures. Stretch can distort the image, so inspect it carefully. Use only an option allowed by the form’s instructions.
Why can’t an image fit the requested KB range?
Pixel dimensions and file size are different limits. Lower JPG quality can reduce KB; PNG does not have the same quality control. If the file is too large, switch to JPG or reduce pixels only when the form allows it. For an undersized JPG, the tool may add empty space inside the file to reach the minimum without changing the picture; the result explains this. Some ranges cannot be met, and the tool will explain rather than silently change your limits.
Why might a portal reject a correctly sized image?
A portal may also check the filename, format, background, face coverage, photo date, signature or scan DPI. This tool does not set DPI metadata or verify those details. If the portal requires live photo capture, complete that step there. Matching pixels and KB does not guarantee acceptance.
Is my photo uploaded to a server?
No. Processing takes place in this browser. You never need to send a customer’s photo for support. Read the privacy policy for details.
Where the form sizes come from
Each form preset uses the upload rules in the official notice below. Rules can change with every new notice, so always check the form you are filling.
Presets set pixel dimensions and file size. They do not check face coverage, background, handwriting or eligibility, and cannot guarantee acceptance. Use the notice for your exam and year.
